RESERVES' RESOUNDING WIN

Like the first team and the Ladies, the Reserves have rounded off thier league season with a resounding win, defeating Greenalls Padgate St Oswald's 4-0, away from home, after they had lost to the same team just 72 hours earlier at the J. Davidson Stadium.

Altrincham made three changes from the Friday night match, with James O'Hara, Scott Smith, Dylan Scanlan coming into the starting eleven. The squad comprised 1. Andrew JONES, 2. Callum JONES, 3. James O'HARA, 4. Scott SMITH, 5. Sam HEATHCOTE, 6. Ethan BROOKS, 7. Darius PALMA, 8. Neil MONAGHAN, 9. Dylan SCANLAN, 10. Joel SWIFT, 11. Tom WESTALL. Substitutes: 14. Joseph ROEBUCK, 14. Tom CLARKE, 15. Chris ROWLEY

Scanlan (right) put Alty ahead before Joel Swift doubled the lead. Scott Smith then beat four defenders before sliding home the third goal and the scoring was wrapped up by an 87th minute penalty converted by Darius Palma. The win leaves Altrincham ninth but all the teams beneath them have at least four games to play and one has seven! Whether all of those teams complete the season remains to be seen.

ALTRINCHAM FC RESERVES 1-2 GREENALLS PADGATE ST OSWALD'S

In their second match in three days at the J. Davidson Stadium, Altrincham FC Reserves lost 1-2 to Greenalls Padgate St Oswald's on Friday evening. Alty fell behind just before half-time after they had enjoyed a good spell of play. A cross from the Padgate right was not cleared and the visitors' number ten calmly stabbed the ball home (44 mins).

Altrincham levelled 12 minutes after the interval when Sam Heathcote smashed home a freekick from just outside the box. But despite having the better of the second half, they lost to a breakaway goal after losing possession ten yards inside their opponents' half (79 mins). Three minutes later Rhain Davis was sent off for an off the ball incident and the visitors rode out the closing stages to keep the three points.

WEATHER ROBS RESERVES

On Saturday afternoon at Egerton Sports Club, Knutsford, Altrincham FC Reserves were 3-1 up against Rudheath Social early in the second half of their league match. RESERVES' UPDATE

On Saturday, a late switch of venue, saw Altrincham Reserves travel to Wythenshawe Town, rather than host the opposition as originally decreed by the fixture list. They lost, however, 3-1. Sean Miller played for the Reserves as he seeks to regain match fitness after his long injury lay-off.

Congleton then went 3-2 up before Joel Swift scored a 30-yard screamer to level the match again. The referee then awarded a dubious free kick, just out side the box shortly before the end, which was really well struck and clinched the game for the hosts.

On Saturday, Altrincham Reserves are away again, to Rudheath Social at Lostock Gralam.
