30th June saw the start of the pre-season training for the senior team and other members of the club. As the Club Welfare Officer it was great to see the senior squad training next to 5-8 year-olds at our Saturday Soccer Club. The young boys and girls were proud to be training next to the lads. At the end of each session the coaches from the soccer club hand out a trophy to players who have earned the reward for their efforts. I would personally like to thank Dalton Steele (right) and Stuart Coburn for handing out the awards. The senior squad were put through their paces by Graham and Dalton and the lads were looking fit".
And a special thank you to Graham Heathcote who presented the certificates and awards to all the players who took part.

Altrincham FC are delighted to release the following announcement:

Graham Heathcote, Manager of Altrincham FC said “It’s vital that this Football Club integrates itself with the local community and we welcome the chance to involve as many youngsters as possible in our Football Club with a theme of Football for All and the emphasis on participation rather than "pot hunting". Hale Barns United Junior Football Club have demonstrated to us that they also share this value. We look forward to a long and beneficial partnership". A spokesman for Hale Barns United said “This is a big step for a club already well established in this area and with our own identity. Our integration into Altrincham FC, we believe, is essential for our development as a junior football club. We need a base and access to the type of facilities, coaching and otherwise that a club the size of Altrincham can readily provide. We hope to quickly establish a mutually beneficial relationship under the Altrincham FC banner and secure Charter Standard Status as soon as possible.”
“The ethos of the club will continue to be the provision of competitive football to children and young people of all abilities in a safe and friendly environment and at a reasonable cost. It should be noted therefore that we will not be an “Academy” but players with the ability and commitment to play at a higher level will be given every encouragement and opportunity to do so. We welcome both current and new players to join us in this new venture”.
