Lewis BAINES (d.o.b. 10 October 1998 in Brighton) formerly np.4

The arrival of left-sided centre-back Lewis Baines at Altrincham was announced on 30 May 2022.

Lewis started out at Fleetwood Town, from where he had loan spells with Bamber Bridge (2017) and Ashton United (2018).

After making his debut for Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy late in 2018, loans at Chorley (December 2018) and Stockport County followed (January 2019). After leaving Fleetwood, he signed for Chorley in July 2019. The Magpies were then in the National League but were relegated back to the North division at the end of that season. In all he has made well over 100 appearances for Chorley and has an England C cap to his name, when he was a used sub against Wales in April 2022.

Injury sidelined Lewis for eleven games after starting the first six Alty fixtures of 2022-23 and also caused him to miss games at the end of the campaign. However, he proved dependable through the core of the season.

In 2023-24 he briefly lost his place before returning to the starting eleven but he became dependable rock in the defence to the extent that he assumed the captaincy following Isaac Marriott's injury in March 2024. He was rewarded for his performances in that role by being named as captain for 2024-25 season.

Unfortunately injury sidelined him from halfway through the season's sixth fixture but he returned after missing seven games, captaining the side once again. He was unfit to start the 25/26 campaign, making his first appearance in game no.7 but intermittent absences followed, suggesting he was not fully fit.

By the time of Neil Gibson's appointment he had again become a regular starter and the new manager played him for every minute, except one, of his first nine league fixtures in charge.

However, after not appearing in any of the next eight league games, it was announced, on 21 February 2026, that Lewis was joining Solihull Moors on loan till the end of the season, at which point he was released. It was an unhappy end for a player who had started the season as team captain.

Oliver CRANKSHAW (d.o.b. 12, August, 1998 in Preston) formerly no.7

The signing of Oliver Crankshaw from Stockport County for an undisclosed fee was announced on 30 August 2023; it was the eleventh signing of the summer.

A winger, he started out at Preston North End before having spells with Ramsbottom United, Clitheroe and Colne as well as for Morecambe under-23s.

From there he joined Curzon Ashton and then Wigan Athletic, in early 2019, before he was loaned back to The Nash.

A loan move to Dundee followed, a year later. He left Wigan for Bradford City in February 2021 before joining Stockport County.

Ollie returned to Scotland in January 2023, again on loan.

He had made more than fifty appearances for his previous employer, Stockport County, before leaving for Altrincham.

However, in only his second appearance for Altrincham, he suffered an ACL injury which prematurely ended his season and caused him to miss the start of the 2024-25 season as well.

From September 2024 he did make 2(+4) starts in all competitions but was sidelined once more in November and did not appear again until the opening game of 2025 in the FA Trophy against Woking.

After two league starts, a further period of absence from the league squad followed from late January 2025 onwards.

In 2025/26 he started the opening game of the season but made only four league starts and five appearances from the bench in the first 15 National League games. However, when Neil Gibson was appointed manager he started games more regularly and netted four goals in three league games in November/December 2025.

Altrincham career appearances: 20(+12), 10 goals

Tylor GOLDEN (d.o.b. 8 November 1999 in Ipswich) formerly no.23

After rejecting a new contract at FC Halifax Town in summer 2024, Tylor trialed for Altrincham and was announced as a new signing on 27 July. He had made 87 appearances across two seasons at The Shay including the game in which Halifax won the 2023 FA Trophy. He made 36(+10) league appearances for the Shaymen in 2023-24 season and picked up nine yellow cards.

Golden had joined the Shaymen after being released by Salford City in 2022. Earlier, he had started out at Wigan Athletic from where Golden spent time on loan at Droylsden and Nantwich Town before being released in June 2020 and joining the Ammies in summer 2020.

In February 2021 Golden joined Notts County on loan but that move was curtailed by injury in his debut game.

Primarily a right-back, he can also play in the left-back berth and with injury sidelining Eddy Jones he was a regular starter on the left of the back line.

He is actually an Altrincham resident despite his earlier career away from the town.

Tylor scored on his Alty debut in the opening game of 24/25 season and, with Eddy Jones long-term-injured from early in the season, he established himself as first-choice left-back. His versatility saw him feature on both flanks of the back line.

In 2025/26 Tylor made 40(+6) appearances in all competitions. His 36(+5) league appearances would have been more but he miseed four NL games through suspension after picking up two red cards during the campaign.

On 27 June 2026 the club announced that Tylor had rejected a new contract and was leaving the club.

Liam HUMBLES (d.o.b. 5 December 2003 in Miami Beach, Florida) formerly no.28

Liam Humbles's second coming to Altrincham, this time on a season-long loan from Rochdale, was announced on 12 January 2026.

Back in 2024/25 season, midfielder Liam had arrived on a one-month loan from Salford City in an agreement revealed on 7 September 2024. He made his debut from the bench in that day's 4-0 win over Ebbsfleet United. In the summer he had featured for The Ammies against Altrincham.

He had finished the previous season on loan at Nantwich Town but had ten Salford City starts to his name including the opening fixture of 2024-25 season.

Despite fairly limited game time during the seven league fixtures after his arrival, his loan was extended for a further month as was announced on 11 October 2024. A further extension kept him at the club until Gateshead announced that they had signed him on loan on 21 December.

In summer 2025 Liam moved from Salford City to Rochdale, where he had made just a single 86th minute appearance before rejoining Alty on loan.

Liam's second debut for Altrincham came on 17 January 2026 as a used substitute in the game at Hartlepool. After three starts, Liam was injured and missed three more matches, before regaining fitness.

He became a regular starter , impressing in his midfield role, before returning to his parent club.

Luke HUTCHINSON (d.o.b. 1 September, 2002 in Bury) formerly no.30

With Ethan Ross sidelined by an ACL injury, Altrincham announced the signing of Luke on a season-long loan from Bolton Wanderers on 15 July 2025. He made his league debut in the opening match of the 25/26 season and was ever-present until October when he was temprarily sidelined by concussion protocols.

As well as being on the bench six times for Bolton in League One, he had made a single EFL appearance on loan at Crawley Town as well as appearing in the EFL Trophy for Wanderers.

Luke had also enjoyed a loan spell from the Trotters to Marine in National League North.

Luke started the season as first-choice keeper and he started every league game but two during the season before returning to his parent club in the summer.

Isaac MARRIOTT (d.o.b. 11 October 1999) formerly no.8

Central midfielder Isaac's signing from Bradford (Park Avenue) "for an undisclosed fee" was announced on Christmas Eve 2021.

A former Huddersfield Town product, a club he joined as a nine year-old, he was loaned to Larne in Northern Ireland in January 2019 before joining the Bradford club on loan in 2019-20 season. He made 25 appearances for the West Yorkshire club that season before returning to Huddersfield.

Before his spell in Northern Ireland with Larne, Isaac has also had loan spells at clubs which included Brighouse Town and Warrington Town.

Following his release by Huddersfield Town in summer 2020, he returned to Yorkshire and signed for Bradford (Park Avenue) where he had made fifteen appearances in 2021-22 before signing for Phil Parkinson at Altrincham. At Bradford he also played as an attacking midfielder and was rewarded with several goals.

However he completed ninety minutes just once in the first eight league fixtures of his Alty career, only actually appearing four times in that period. But once he had regained fitness he became an ever-present starter for the final sixteen games of the 2021-22 campaign.

A pre-season injury in summer 2022 meant that Isaac missed the start of the 2022-23 season and it was league game 18 before he started a game, on 8 November 2022. However, he soon re-established himself as a key figure in the team and was rewarded with a two-year contract extension, announced at the end of March 2023.

A serious ankle injury curtailed Isaac's appearances in March 2024 and a remedial operation ended his season prematurely as well as causing him to miss the opening weeks of the 2024-25 campaign. After a brief return a further injury lay-off saw him sidelined in January 2025 before he returned to league action in March.

In 2025/26 Isaac was the only player to start all of the club's first sixteen league fixtures. However, after being a virtual ever-present, Isaac decamped to Barrow in summer 2026.

Sam REED (d.o.b. 27 March 2003 formerly no.3

On 6 June 2025 tall and speedy left-back Sam was announced as a new signing for the club.

He started out at West Riding club Brighouse Town before his move to Sheffield Wedneday in 2023. He made his debut for The Owls in February of that year.

In November of 2024 he went to Boston United on loan and made five appearances for the Lincolnshire club. A loan at Scarborough Athltic followed, where he appeared in 15 games for the National North club before being released by Wednesday in summer 2025.

During the first third of the season he missed several games through injury and selection criteria. More injury issues cost him the last ten league fixtures of 2025 and into 2026, during which his appearances petered out

Ethan ROSS (d.o.b. 6 March 1997 in Enfield) formerly no.1

Six-foot five-inch Ethan Ross initially joined Altrincham on loan for the 2023-24 season from Stockport County in a deal announced on 25 July 2023.

After 15 impressive appearances, which included his saving three of the five penalties that he had faced, Ethan joined Altrincham on a permanent basis in a deal announced on 13 October 2023.

He had come through the youth teams at Arsenal and Cambridge United before joining West Bromwich Albion, from where he played against Alty as early as 2016-17 season whilst on loan at Worcester City. As well as his loan to Worcester he also had a spell with Redditch United whilst at The Hawthorns.

In 2018 he joined Colchester United from where he went on loan to Maidstone United early in 2019.

After Colchester he signed for Lincoln City in summer 2020. The Imps loaned him to Weymouth in January 2021, where he again faced Altrincham.

The summer of 2021 saw him join Stockport County and in spring 2022 he went on loan to Aldershot Town and again faced The Robins.

He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at York City, which remarkably became the fifth club for which Ethan had played in a game against Altrincham, following appearances against the Robins for Worcester City, Weymouth, Aldershot Town and Stockport County. Ethan made his Robins debut at Macclesfield in a pre-season game on 26 July 2023 before becoming an ever-present between the sticks to the end of 2023 in the National League.

From summer 2024 Ethan was also described by the club as a (goalkeeping) coach.

After an almost ever-present and impressive first half of the league season, in game 28 at home to Braintree Town on 8 February 2025, Ethan was unable to complete the match and was diagnosed with an ACL injury requiring an operation and ruling him out of action for the remainder of the season. As of late October 2025 the club indicated that Ethan would remain sidelined until late January 2026. In the interim he had stepped up his involvement in a coaching role and regularly assisted the management during games.

However, Ross was unable to play at all in 2025-26 season and his departure was announced on 1 July 2026.

Altrincham career appearances: 72.

Billy SASS-DAVIES (d.o.b. 17 February 2000 in Abergele) formerly no.15

Centre-back Billy joined Alty for the third time in a move announced on 3 June 2025. He arrived after spending the 2024-25 season with Hartlepool United who announced his departure "for family reasons" after he had made 20(+4) National League appearances but failed to score.

However, the Wales under-19 had first signed for Altrincham on a season-long loan from Crewe Alexandra on the eve of a trip to York City in the National League North on 8 March 2019. He made his debut in that match as a substitute.

Having started out at Crewe Alexandra in 2017, on joining Alty in 2019 Billy had just completed a loan spell at FC United of Manchester. He had previously had spells on loan at Colwyn Bay and Leek Town.

Regrettably, a three-week gap in Altrincham fixtures and an injury, as well as an early recall by Crewe on 13 April 2019, limited Billy to just two substitute appearances for Altrincham that season.

Having signed a new contract at Gresty Road in summer 2019, he went on loan to AFC Telford United in 2019-20 season, followed in February 2020 by a month's loan at Ashton United.

Billy also made his first-team debut for The Railwaymen and scored his debut first-team goal, for Crewe in the EFL Cup in September 2020.

His second loan spell at Altrincham, this time competing in the National League but again from Crewe Alexandra, was announced on 6 November 2020.

This move had been prompted by a long-term injury to Toby Mullarkey and the summer departure of James Jones which, curiously, in 2025 was again to be a major factor in his arrival at the club.

Unfortunately, Billy's second loan at Altrincham was also curtailed. On this occasion it was truncated by a recall to Crewe, who were experiencing their own injury problems. In his second stay at Moss Lane, Billy made 5(+2) appearances.

He then joined Yeovil Town on loan in 2021, followed by more loan-time at Woking in 2023; a longer spell at Boreham Wood followed in 2023-24 season before he left Crewe and joined Hartlepool in 2024.

A pre-season injury of an unspecified nature sidelined him from the start of 2025/26 season and he had an equally unspecified operation during the autumn which left him wearing a surgical boot. In late October the club indicated that he would remain sidelined until at least late January 2026.

In fact, he made no appeaarnces at all throughout the season though he was named as an unused substitute in the final game of the season.

Dan SASSI (d.o.b. 8 December 2003 in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire) formerly no.34

With Altrincham suffering a wave of injuries to centre-backs, Dan's arrival on a loan from Blackpool until New Year 2026, was announced on the eve of the 2025-26 campaign.

He started out at Stoke City before joining Burnley where he stayed from 2020-23. At Turf Moor he benefitted from coaching by manager Vincent Kompany.

In February 2024 he joined Blackpool who sent the 6 ft 3inch centre-back on loan in September 2024 to Rochdale where he made 14 appearances. In January 2025 he also had a loan spell at AFC Fylde which lasted till the end of the season.

By the start of November, Dan had played every minute of every league game, except one game in which he only made a brief appearance from the bench. However, a second red card of the season in game 34 cost his a four-match ban but he ended the season as a regular starter once again

Yassine TOURE (d.o.b. 10 March 2006)

Yassine, the son of Kolo Toure and an Ivory Coast citizen, was awarded a contract at Altrincham as was announced by the club on 4 December 2025.

At the same time it was announced that he would go on loan to an unspecified NPL Division One West club, which was later revealed to be Vauxhall Motors where he was to remain "until January". After he had made five appearances for the Motormen, that arrangement was extended till the end of the season.

A right-sided winger he had previously played for Wrexham Reserves to whom he was contracted from January to June 2025 after earlier spells with the academies at Celtic (2019) and Leicester City (till 2024).
