Altrincham deployed their first-team squad as they sought to add more game-time to players who had only been involved in three revious ninety-minute matches this summer.

Rovers employed an amalgam of four trialists, some recent signings, a mix of first-team players (apparently only one of whom was a regular starter last season) and "students from the Education Hub".
