SUMMARY:
An Altrincham Legends' side, captained by Shaun Densmore faced an Altrincham FC XI from this season's squad in a match to mark the testimonial year for the Alty defender, now in his 14th year at Moss Lane.
The match comprised three periods, each of 25 minutes.
Inside sixty seconds Shaun was victim of what Martin Keown would call a "reducer" from former team-mate Chris Denham!
After Max Harrop had shot wide for the Legends (4 mins), Denham forced a good save from Tony Thompson. Next, Densmore himself went close (12 mins). At the other end Stuart Coburn was not troubled by a Ben Pringle effort.
Just before the first break, Jordan Hulme opened the scoring for the current side (24 mins).
After the break, a foul on John Johnston produced a freekick for the Legends but this did not produce a goal.
After 42 minutes Thompson saved well from Damian Reeves but on 46 minutes Shaun himself netted the equaliser from a freekick.
A feature of the final third was goalkeeper Steven Drench playing as an outfield player but there was to be no further scoring and the match ended in an honourable 1-1 draw.
