Though this match saw Altrincham drop their first points in the competition and Daisy Hill gain their first point of the tournament, it proved of litle consequence as the Bolton side failed to turn up for their next fixture and their record was expunged from the records.

In a very low key performance, Alty created chances but failed to capitalise on any of them. Manager George Heslop had made several changes from the side which had brought them success in the previous games. With just one game to be played today and with one eye on the later rounds of the competition, central defenders Reza Zareh-Ourang and Alex Murphy were rested for this game.

At the break, Alty brought on Adam Alwill for Sam Madeley, up front, and Chris Francis replaced Ben Oliver, whose calf muscle had tightened. The second-half performance continued in the same lacklustre vein as the first period, with the team failing to pass the ball well. Apart from a very good save by the Daisy Hill keeper from Tom Cosgrave at an Alty corner, the keepers had little to do. Indeed, this was a game which had nil-nil written all over it. Fifteen minutes from the end Bailey gave way to Daly but the game was destined to remain goalless.
