REPORT

Report, below, courtesy of George Heslop.

This was the second game of the day for Altrincham after their 6-1 win over Stockport Junior Blues. Norton Juniors hail from Rochdale so, once again, the opposition was unfamiliar to Altrincham.

Norton found Altrincham a handful in the first half, during which Altrincham played quite a lot of long-ball football. By the interval they led by four goals, all scored by captain, Ben Deegan.

After the interval, Altrincham made changes to ensure that ll of their 17 man squad had seen some action. Connell replaced Deegan, with Zareh-Ourang assuming the captaincy, Bain came on for McDarmaid and newcomer Dale Benson replaced Dean White. After Deegan had gone off, the goals continued to come from around the rest of the team. In fact, seven second-half goals arrived, the scorers being Hassan Zareh-Ourang (2), Matty Williams (2), Curtis Connell (2) and Ben Robson (1).

Altrincham next meet Daisy Hill Juniors and Wilmslow High School (on Thursday) before finishing the first stage of the competition against the exotically named FC Baresi Youth. For Thursday's games they will be without Matty Williams and Daniel Gray who are unavailable.
