MATCH REPORT

Report courtesy of George Heslop.

Altrincham used this match as a trial for season 2004-05 and it was played over three periods of thirty minutes each.

The first period was certainly Altrincham's when they had a very good period of passing the ball around and supporting each other. This culminated in two very good finishes by Sam Cawthra, who combined well with Terry Leigh (ex-Stafford Rangers).

Even though Altrincham conceded a goal in each of the next two periods, a 2-2 draw was a a commendable result against an older and more physically developed side, which had reached the semi-finals of the National College Championships.

Overall, there was enough talent on display to augur well for Altrincham's youth football next season.
