GOALKEEPERS
Stuart COBURN (d.o.b. 5 May, 1976, in Manchester, height 6ft 1in, weight 14st.)

The club's senior professional, Stuart first joined Altrincham from Trafford in 1997/98 season, having been at nearby Trafford FC since 1994/95 after earlier spells at Irlam Town and Maine Road. Injury meant that Stuart played only nine games in his first Conference season (99/00) at the end of which campaign the Robins were relegated.

In May 2002, the lure of Conference football took him from Alty (then in the Northern Premier League) to Leigh RMI on a 2-year contract. However, Leigh surprisingly released him in October 2003 after he had been voted their player of the season. He rejoined Alty on 17 October 2003 and made his (second) Alty debut at Hyde United on 21 October 2003. Since then he has been first-choice keeper at Moss Lane.

As well as completing 600 games for Altrincham at the start of the 2013-14 season, Stuart can also make several claims unmatched by other keepers; he has scored twice whilst playing in goal, (once for Alty [at Runcorn] and once previously), has an outfield league-match substitution to his name, (in April 1998 versus Emley).... and was once suspended in mid-season for picking up five yellow cards!

In his private life, Stuart is manager of a hire shop business in Altrincham. Appearances to June 2013: 597(+1), 1 goal.

Tim DEASY (d.o.b. 1 October, 1985)

Tim signed dual-registration Conference forms for Altrincham on 13 March 2014 whilst playing for Northwich Victoria.

His career began at Macclesfield Town where he made three first-team appearances before leaving in summer of 2006. From there he signed for Stockport County but moved on on at the end of the 2006/07 season, without making a first-eleven appearance..

For 2007-08 he joined Barrow, where he gained promotion to the national levl of the Football Conference. In all, he made 93 appearancess for the Bluebirds before leaving Holker Street in summer 2010. He moved east to Gateshead, for whom he made 55 appearances before his release in April 2012. Next, came a spell with Bradford Park Avenue (19 appearances), a club he left at the end of the 2012-13 season. After that he joined Northwich Victoria.

Adam REID

Adam left Altrincham FC on 10 January 2014.

Details of his Altrincham career can be found on the Departed Players page.

Josh SAMBERG (d.o.b. 7 September 1995)

Altrincham FC signed youth team goalkeeper Josh Samberg on non-contract forms in mid-December 2013. He established himself as the regular Altrincham FC Youth team goalkeeper in the 2013-14 season but before that, in summer 2013, he had been goalkeeper for the Team GB Under-18s who won a medal in Israel in the 19th Maccabiah Games.

Russell SAUNDERS (d.o.b. 3 January 1989, at Bury)

Russ signed dual-registration Conference forms for Altrincham in late March 2014 whilst playing for Mossley.

Russell was originally signed by Altrincham on 28 July 2009 after a very impressive string of performances in the pre-season games. However, he had been at Moss Lane earlier when, as a loan player from Wigan Athletic, he played as an emergency loan signing on 21 September 2007 following injuries to Stuart Coburn and Richard Acton. His debut on 22 September 2007 against Droylsden was eventful; his first action was to face a penalty after 9 minutes and then he was stretchered off after 60 minutes. As a result of his only being on a month's loan, that was the end of his Altrincham career until he rejoined in 2009. He made his second Alty debut at Ebbsfleet on 16 January 2010. Russell was released in early August 2010 and joined Hyde FC. He has made six appearances in all for Altrincham.

DEFENDERS
David BROWN (d.o.b. 20 April 1996)

A defender who can play centrally or at right-back, David has been a regular in the Altrincham FC Youth team for two years. He was with Rochdale as a youngster and has won Cheshire FA County representative honours at under-18 level. He signed first-team forms in late September 2013.

Shaun DENSMORE (d.o.b. 11 November 1988, in Liverpool)

Signed on 12 September 2008, Shaun is a former Everton Academy Player of the Year, who was released by the Toffees in summer 2008. After trials with Bradford City he joined Altrincham, following in the footsteps of his father Peter, an Altrincham favourite in the 1980s. Shaun, a hardworking right-footed midfielder/defender, made his Alty debut in the Cheshire Senior Cup on 16th September 2008. After completing his initial month's contract at Altrincham, on 13 October 2008 Shaun signed on for the rest of 2008-09 season, having impressed in a run of seven unbeaten games in the side.

The son of former Altrincham player, Peter Densmore, Shaun followed his father into the England semi-pro international side and scored on his debut for England "C" side against Malta in February, 2009. Despite an early season suspension in 09-10, Shaun soon re-established himself as a tenacious right-back/midfielder. However, he picked up a medial ligament injury in February 2011 which sidelined him till the latter part of the season but he returned to full fitness before the end of the season.

A regular starter in 2011-12 in central midfield, Shaun was named captain on the departure of Robbie Lawton in November, 2011. He has variously played at right-back and in midfield but in 2012/13 has regularly played at right-back. Appearances to June 2013: 210(+4), 21 goals.

Matt DOUGHTY (d.o.b. 2 November, 1981, in Warrington)

A left-back, Matt first joined Alty from Halifax Town in mid-June 2008, having been with the Shaymen since July 2004, a club he had joined from Rochdale. He had previously also played for Chester City, for whom he signed professionally when just 16. Matt was a regular for Chester for two seasons (1999-2001) making 53(+17) League/Conference appearances for them.

In 2001, he had moved to Rochdale and had a trial with Southampton but a broken leg halted the prospects of a move to Hampshire. At Rochdale he made 93(+12) appearances in the League. Another broken leg sadly hampered the 5ft 8inch defender's career at The Shay but he still managed 119(+12) league appearances for the club.

Matt made his Alty league debut on 9 August 2008 and he became one of the team's most consistent players, as well as its penalty taker, but he sadly suffered cruciate ligament damage against Salisbury City in February 2010. This injury effectively ended his initial spell at Moss Lane. After leaving Altrincham, Matt joined Witton Albion before moving on, in March 2011, to Hyde.

In 2012/13, Matt played regularly at left-back, as well as making some appearances on the left side of midfield, where his crossing ability was beneficial to the side. In 2013-14 Matt figured in most of the first 17 league games but, thereafter, made only sporadic appearances. A knee injury curtailed his involvement and for the same reason he elected to leave the club at the end of the 2013-14 season. Appearances to June 2013: 115(+12), 6 goals.

Adam GRIFFIN (d.o.b. 26 August, 1984 )

Altrincham signed lefi-back Adam Griffin from Hyde FC on 13 December 2013 and he made his debut in a friendly against Southport the next day. He had been captain at the Tameside club. Prior to that he had amassed nearly 250 Football League appearances. His League career saw him play for Oldham Athletic, before joining Oxford United and Stockport County, whom he joined for the 2006-07 season. He also had a season with Darlington.

Gianluca HAVERN (d.o.b. 24 September 1988 in Gorton, Manchester)

Gianluca Havern signed for Altrincham in early July 2012. Gianluca spent his early footballing days at Stockport County, where he was captain of their under-18 side. Whilst at County he went on loan at Radcliffe Borough and Ashton United, before making his Stockport County debut in May 2008, a game in which he also scored.

Released by County in January 2009, he briefly joined Mansfield Town, before returning to Stockport County. He left Edgeley Park, again, at the end of August 2010 and joined Mossley before moving on to Ashton United. By June 2011, he had signed for Hyde, where he was a key member of their championship-winning side last season.

In 2012/13 he re-formed a partnership with fellow ex-Hyde defender Danny Hall and, in the absences of Shaun Densmore, captained the side. Appearances to June 2013: 48, 2 goals.

Danny HIGGINBOTHAM

Danny announced his retirement on 8 January 2014.

Details of his Altrincham career can be found on the Departed Players page.

Scott LEATHER (d.o.b. 30 September, 1992 in Manchester)

Scott signed on a non-contract basis for Altrincham on 19 July 2012, having figured for just 29 minutes on his Altrincham debut a friendly against Morecambe two days earler. A right-back or central-defender, Scott spent some eight years at Crewe Alexandra before he moved on to Preston North End in 2009. He made two League appearances for the Deepdale club but was released by Preston at the end of 2011-12 season. Before joining Altrincham in summer 2012, he had a trial with Barrow.

Though initially mainly named on the bench, Scott seized his chance when injuries and suspensions gave him a chance in 2012/13. He showed his versatility by playing across the back four positions and on 4 December 2012 was rewarded with a contract till the end of the 2013-14 season. Off the field Scott is a trainee engineer. Appearances to June 2013: 33(+13), 1 goal.

Tom MARSHALL (d.o.b. 16 November, 1987 in Lichfield)

On 20 December 2013, Altrincham FC signed central defender Thomas Marshall from Stafford Rangers. Tom started out at Hednesford Town where he made 170 appearances for The Pitmen, from the age of 17. He was then signed by Eastwood Town (summer 2010) but a shoulder injury, sustained in a car accident, hindered his progress. However, he moved to Tamworth, where he had two spells (2010-11 and 2012-13), with a period in between with Kidderminster Harriers (2011-12).

Whilst at Aggbrough he was loaned to Brackley Town during their promotion push to the Conference North. He made 72(+4) league appearances for Tamworth, where he had a spell as captain, and started 23 times for Kidderminster in the Conference National. At Kiddy he was a team mate of Alty's injured defender, Mike Williams. He stands 6ft 4ins tall.

Derek UBAH (d.o.b. 29 April 1996)

Derek signed first-team forms before being named on the bench for the Skrill North match against Gloucester City on 24 September 2013. A very tall centre-back, Derek joined Altrincham from FC United's first-team squad.

Mike WILLIAMS (d.o.b. 27 October 1986)

Altrincham agreed terms with left-sided or central defender Mike Williams in early June 2013. He arrived at Moss Lane from Kidderminster Harriers, where he had spent the previous three seasons. After starting out at Wrexham, where he made 60 league appearances, he was released by the Dragons at the end of 2009–10 season and then signed on at Aggbrough.

Mike has appeared 13 times for Wales's under-21 team and, in 2009, received a Wales cap for playing for their semi-pro international side. Mike's first two games for Alty in August 2013 confirmed his versatility, as he played respectively at left- and centre-back. Sadly, a cruciate ligament injury sidelined Mike after just five league starts and one sub appearance in the 2013-14 season. Appearances to June 2013: 0.

MIDFIELDERS

Danny BOSHELL (d.o.b. 30 May 1981, in Bradford)

Danny left Altrincham FC on 19 October 2013 to become player-coach at Guiseley.

Details of his Altrincham career can be found on the Departed Players page.

Nicky CLEE (d.o.b. 30 August 1983, in Huddersfield)

Altrincham signed Nicky Clee from Hyde United on 17 July 2009. Nicky is primarily a left-winger and is also an accomplished batsman for Marsden CC near Huddersfield. Former Alty boss Gerry Quinn took Nicky from Ossett Albion, whom he had joined in 2002-03 from local football, to join Ashton United in the 2003-04 season.

The following summer he moved to Hyde United, where he made his debut at the end of July 2005 and made 147(+12) appearances and scored 21 goals in all for the Tameside club. Nicky has a very long-throw in his armoury as well as the pace and skills of a wing man. Initially used as a sub, Nicky established a more regular place in the starting line-up in September and soon became a fans' favourite. In 10-11 he was a key attacking component in the Alty side but suffered with niggling injuries. His non-football job is as a finance assistant in a Huddersfield company.

Since 2011-12 he has showed his versatility by startting many games at left-back. In 2012/13 he mainly started on the left flank of midfield and was one of the team's main attacking forces. Nicky would also be first in the queue to go in goal should such an opportunity arise. Appearances to June 2013: 143(+26), 21 goals.

Spencer CUNLIFFE (d.o.b. 22 June 1996)

A skilful central or right-midfielder, Spencer is captain of the Altrincham FC Youth team in 2013-14. After winning County honours with the Cheshire FA, Spencer has now repeated that feat with the Manchester County FA. Before joining Altrincham he was with Macclesfield Town.

Rob GILROY (d.o.b. 1 November, 1995, in Liverpool)

Rob joined Altrincham FC Youth team in 2012 from Chester FC. During the 2012-13 season Crosby-based Rob began to train with the first team before signing Conference North forms on 13 March 2013, whilst on duty for the England Schools team, for whom he had scored on his debut earlier in the month. Rob went on to captain the England side to a 3-1 win against Scotland in Perth and he scored one of the goals. He also remains involved with the Altrincham FC Youth team, his preferred position being in central midfield.

After being on the bench for a number of Skrill North games, Rob went on loan to Prescot Cables on 16 December 2013 to gain match experience. Appearances to June 2013: 0.

Jeff KING (d.o.b. 19 December, 1995)

Midfielder Jeff is the nephew of former Altrincham FC manager and captain, John King. He was first named in the first-team squad on 12 April 2014, against North Ferriby United, and continued to play for the Altrincham FC youth team, which he had joined during the 2013-14 season.

Joe MWASILE

Joe returned to Morecambe after his loan spell.

Details of his Altrincham career can be found on the Departed Players page.

Jake MOULT (d.o.b. 10 February, 1989)

Following the unexpected departure of Scott Phelan on the eve of the 2012-13 season, Lee Sinnott signed midfielder Jake Moult on a 93-day loan from Alfreton Town in late August 2012. Jake had been a summer trialist at Altrincham in 2007. Born in Stoke on Trent, he joined Alfreton on 1 July 2010, before which he had been with Stafford Rangers. His earlier career was with Port Vale and Plymouth Argyle.

In early November, Jake moved to Altrincham on a free transfer, signing a contract to the end of 2013/14 season. He weighed in with a good goal-return from central midfield. Appearances to June 2013: 36(+13), 9 goals.

Simon RICHMAN (d.o.b. 2 June 1990 at Ormskirk)

Midfielder/winger Simon Richman is a product of the Bolton Wanderers' academy and the Port Vale youth system. He broke through into the Valiants' first team in League One in 2007-08 and made 48 League appearances for them in all, mostly in 2008-09 in League Two, when he was voted the club's Young Player of the Season. Simon then suffered a groin injury which kept him out of action for several months and, though he made five first-team League Two apperances for Vale in 2009-10, he was released at the end of that campaign. In summer 2010, he had trials with Southport and Worcester City, before joining City and making eight league appearances in the Blue Square Bet North.

Lee Sinnott's first signing, Simon's early Alty career was marred by injuries and illnes. Having mostly played in right midfield, Simon completed the campaign in central midfield, a position he also played in during 2012-13. Summer 2013 saw him as an integral part of the Great Britain Universities' team which won the silver medal in the world games in Kazan, Russia, but he picked up an injury there and missed the opening game of the season. Appearances to June 2013: 55(+19), 11 goals.

Carl RODGERS (d.o.b. 26 March, 1983, height 6ft 2ins)

Carl signed for Altrincham on 16 May 2012, after six seasons at FC Telford United, where he was the longest-serving player. Carl's previous clubs included Chester City (2002), Caernarfon Town (2002-03), TNS (2003-04) and Colwyn Bay (2004-06). A trainee electrician and part-time worker in the fast-food industry, Carl's hobby is being a disc jockey. A strong presence in central midfield he also popped up with some important goals in his inaugural season. His first appearance in 2013-14 saw him deployed as substitute striker and he scored a fine goal, against Worcester City.

During 2013-14 he was in and out of the side but an influential run of nine games towards the finale was a significant factor in the club's promotion. However, a hamstring problem saw him sit out the play-off games. At the end of the season he announced that he was moving to Australia. Appearances to June 2013: 36(+6), 5 goals.

Brian "Junior" SMIKLE

Junior Smikle was released on 14 January 2014.

Details of his Altrincham career canm be found on the Departed Players page.

Matthew TODD (d.o.b. 1 January 1996)

Matt is a central midfielder and regular with the Altrincham FC Youth team, who has also been a Cheshire FA trialist.

Greg WILKINSON (d.o.b. 3 October, 1989)

Altrincham FC signed Stalybridge Celtic midfielder Greg Wilkinson on 18 October 2013. Before that, Greg had been at the Bower Fold since February, 2008. In all he made 165 appearances and scored 17 times for Celtic. Greg's great uncle, Nick Boland played for Altrincham in the 1930s.

FORWARDS
James LAWRIE (d.o.b. 18 December, 1990 in Dundonald, Co. Down)

Signed from AFC Telford United on 31 August 2011, initially on a one-month loan, (later extended to 93 days), James is a Northern Ireland-born forward, who was brought up in Middlewich, Cheshire. At the conclusion of his loan spell, Telford released him and he signed for Altrincham in early December, 2011. In February 2013 he signed a further contract, tying him to Moss Lane till the end of the 2013-14 season.

His footballing career began in Port Vale's youth system. Whilst at the Potteries' club, at which Alty boss Lee Sinnott was manager in 2007-08, he went on to make his first League appearances and recorded his first league goal for Port Vale in January 2009. He scored the team's Goal of the Season in 2008-09 and went on to make 27(+2) appearances for the club. A troubled Port Vale transfer-listed its entire squad in summer 2010 and, so, James left at that time. But, previously, he had had a trial at Everton (2009-10) and spent a period on loan at Kidderminster Harriers from February 2010 till the end of that season. For the Harriers, he made 12 appearances - one of which was against Altrincham at Moss Lane. After leaving Port Vale, James had trials at Exeter City, Stevenage and Morecambe before he signed a year's contract at AFC Telford United. There, his progress was hampered by an ankle injury.

Having played at various age-levels for Northern Ireland, the six-foot striker gained his first senior international cap against Italy in June 2009 and made two further international appearances. James's spell at Port Vale coincidentally overlapped with Altrincham player Simon Richman's time there. James made his Alty debut as a sub, away to Gloucester City, on 3 September, 2011 and scored on his full debut a week later. James, who played on both flanks as well as in a central striking position, finished his first season as the club's second highest scorer and again reached double figures in 2012-13. Appearances to June 2013: 72(+12), 20 goals.

Kyle PERRY (d.o.b. 5 March 1986 in Birmingham)

On 29 May 2013, Altrincham FC announced that they have agreed terms for 2013-14 with striker Kyle Perry, who was with Nuneaton Town in 2012-13. As a youngster, having been at Walsall, Kyle joined AFC Telford United (2004-06), where he made 68 appearances, scoring 32 times. Spells at four Midlands teams followed; Sutton Coldfield Town (on loan), Hednesford Town, Willenhall Town and Chasetown. Kyle was in the Chasetown side which knocked Port Vale out of the FA Cup. Indeed, the Valiants later signed him (January 2008), when current Alty boss Lee Sinnott was their manager, and he made 31 appearances for the Burslem side.

The BBC in 2008 reported that "Port Vale striker Kyle Perry has praised manager Lee Sinnott for rescuing his career. Sinnott brought Perry to Vale Park from Chasetown in January after he helped the Southern League Division One side knock the Valiants out of the FA Cup. The 22-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke, 'He saw my ability and believed in me so I can't thank him enough for that. He pulled me back into league football and saved my career'...

A forward by trade, Perry has been asked to play on the left of midfield on occasions and, although he would prefer to play up front... 'I can compete in both positions', he said. 'I'm put out there because I'm tall and I can whip a ball in when I get the chance'".

Following a loan spell with Northwich Victoria (2009), he spent 2009-10 at Mansfield Town (40 games, 9 goals) and 2010-11 at Tamworth (40 games, 17 goals), before signing for Lincoln City (2011-12). 2012 saw him have a loan spell at Telford before joining promoted Nuneaton Town for 2012-13. During that season he had loan spells with Hereford United and Tamworth. Appearances to June 2013: 0.

Max POUNCEY (d.o.b. 14 September 1995)

Max's five-goal haul in the FA Youth Cup match against Nostell Miners' Welfare in October 2013 underlined his goalscoring potential. A Cheshire County FA player, Max signed first-team forms at the end of October 2013. He went on loan to Prescot Cables on 16 December 2013.

Damian REEVES (d.o.b. 18 December 1985, height 5ft 10ins)

Altrincham FC signed striker Damian Reeves on 26 June 2010 and he became the club's leading scorer and "Supporters' Player of the Season" at the end of the 2010-11 campaign, netting 19 times in 35(+11) games for a struggling side. He started his first game for Altrincham on the opening day of the 2010-11 season at Luton. Despite not starting more than three successive league games at a stretch in the first half of the season, Damian became a permanent starter for the second half of the campaign.

In 2011-12 a rich vein of form saw him hit 44 goals, all in the league, to become the country's highest scorer at the club's level or above. It looked as if that haul might earn him a move to a League club but after a summer of rumour and speculation he re-signed for Altrincham on 22 July 2012. His scoring continued in 2012-13 with 41 goals in all competitions.

Doncaster-based Damian is an Academy graduate of Leeds United, where he first played under Alty boss, Lee Sinnott. Subsequently, he played Conference football with Farsley Celtic, Histon and Northwich Victoria. A Liverpool supporter, Damian broke his leg badly whilst at Leeds, after which he moved to Farsley, where he spent two years from August 2006 to June 2008. In his first season he scored 23 goals and, the following season, the Yorkshire club's one campaign in the Conference, he played 44(+2) games in all competitions, scoring 11 Conference and 3 cup goals in FA competitions. At Histon he played 13(+9) games and netted 5 times, before leaving in January 2009 to move to Northwich Victoria, where he made 7(+2) appearances.

After Vics, Damian went to Alfreton Town in 2009-10, followed by a spell at AFC Telford United and a loan spell with Bradford PA. At Telford he scored four goals in 17 appearances.

Outside football, Damian is a self-employed plasterer and, before establishing himself in football, he had a basketball trial with Sheffield Sharks. Appearances to June 2013: 129(+12), 104 goals.

James WALSHAW (d.o.b. 12 February, 1984 in Dewsbury)

On 27 May 2013, Altrincham signed James Walshaw, who had ended the previous season at Guiseley, where he had netted 10 league goals in 29 appearances. James had joined Guiseley, initially, towards the end of the 2008-09 season and the following season he had scored 27 times for them (including 13 penalties!). He was again top-scorer at Guiseley, with 32 goals, in 2010-11. A move to Darlington followed but, after a loan spell at FC Halifax Town, he was re-signed by the Nethermoor club in early 2012 when The Quakers hit financial trouble.

His earlier career included spells at Yorkshire clubs Ossett Town, Bradford PA, Farsley Celtic (2007/8) and Wakefield.

2013-14 saw James finish as the club's and the league's top scorer, with 29 goals plus 3 in cup matches. Sadly, he elected to leave at the end of the campaign. Appearances to June 2013: 0.
