RESERVE TEAM PLAYER PROFILES 2004-05
The Altrincham Reserves are managed by Neil Brown, who has an impressive track record for developing young players, especially at Fletcher Moss in Manchester. I am very grateful to Neil for most of the information below. Ages given are as at August 2004. Any errors are mine.

ADIO Marchant: Aged 20. Central midfielder, formerly at Notts County, and locally with Fletcher Moss and Jackson's Boat.
Jamie ALMOND: Midfielder. As a youngster was at Manchester City and made a brief appearance for Alty's first team at the end of last season.
Billy BLOWER (right): Aged 17. Goalkeeper, who has played or had trials at Manchester United, Oldham, Rochdale, Macclesfield Town. Formerly with Fletcher Moss FC.
Adam BRINDLE: Centre-back, with experience at Manchester City.
Ashley BROWN: Younger brother of Michael Brown, Ashley has played for the Reseerves on the wing.
Michael BROWN: Michael is a young footballer who has had trials with Manchester United and City and Crewe Alexandra. He has played in a very succesful side at Fletcher Moss for nine years and his keenness to be involved with Altrincham is underlined by his volunteering to help his father, Neil, as kitman to the Reserves.
Lewis CHALMERS: Aged 18. Midfielder/ defender, good in the air and with a long throw. He came through the Alty Youth team and also played for Accrington Stanley's junior team. Has also been involved with Manchester City, Manchester United, Oldham, Fletcher Moss, Middleton Boys, Cheshire U-18s and Gtr Manchester under-19s.
Daniel DOHERTY: Aged 17. Defender who played for Alty Youth in a trial match against Wright Robinson College in March 2004. Has also been at Oldham, Burnley and Flixton, as well as Fletcher Moss.
Adam DOUTHWAITE: Aged 18. Right-back who came through the Alty Youth team. Has been with or had trials at Stockport County, Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool, Crewe and Burnley. Adam has represented Cheshire and Trafford District FA.
Steve EVERALL: Aged 18. Goalkeeper with experience at Manchester City, Macclesfield Town, Maine Road, Manchester Boys and Fletcher Moss.
Sam FOX: Goalkeeper; also a member of this year's youth team squad.
Danny GRIMSHAW: Aged 18. Left-winger/ midfielder who has graduated from the Alty youth team of 2003-04. Formerly at Rochdale.
Kirk HILTON: Former Manchester United Reserves' defender.
James HOLDEN: Aged 17. Midfielder who has been with or trialled at WBA, Walsall, Wolves, Kidderminster, Telford, Bury and Maine Road.
Kieran JAMES: Aged 20. Left winger, formerly at Worcester Park and Corinthian Casuals.
Levi KENNEDY: Aged 21. Right wing/ midfielder. As a teenager Levi came through the Alty Youth and Reserves ranks. He has also had spells at various clubs including Burnley, Crewe, Chester City and Trafford. In local football he has been with Fletcher Moss and Jackson's Boat.
Wayne LEATHER: Aged 18. Centre-back, formerly with Wrexham and Manchester United.
Spencer LIDDIARD: Goalkeeper. Spencer was previously at Alty four years or so ago.
Dwaine LYNSEY: Aged 22. Striker, formerly at Halifax Town and Burnley as well as locally with Fletcher Moss, Old Gregorians and Cheadle Town.
James MARSDEN: Aged 19. Right-back and captain. Experience with Manchester City, Manchester United, Stockport, Morecambe and Southport.

George MELLING: Aged 19. Centre-back and vice-captain, formerly at Morecambe (reserves and first team). George has also represented the Lancashire FA and been at Blackpool FC.
Paul MONAGHAN: Aged 21. Defender/midfielder. Another product of the Alty youth team who has also played for Maine Road.
Rio NELSON: Aged 19. Striker who has played for Dominica under-17s. Has had local experience with Moss Side Amateurs, Old House and Atherton Collieries.
James OLDEN: Made impressive debut against Wythenshawe Town in pre-season.
Adrian ORE: Wide midfielder with impressive pace.
Rico RICHARDS: Aged 21. Striker who came through the Alty youth team before having spells at clubs which include Trafford, where he broke his leg last season. Has had spells or trials at Manchester City, Milwall and Chester City.
Irisalvino SANTY. Portuguese goalkeeper.
Daniel "Shaka" SHAW: Aged 19. Centre-back. Has played for Greater Manchester and Fletcher Moss.
Stevie TAYLOR: Aged 18. Left-sided player who came through the Alty Youth team after being with Stockport County as a youngster. Took a break from football in late 2004.
Otis THOMAS: Aged 21. Wide midfielder/striker. After coming through the Alty Youth ranks and playing in the first team, Otis had trials at various League clubs before returning to Moss Lane this season. He has also been at Chester City and with the Barbados under-21 squad.
Paul TILLEY: Paul, a midfielder, rejoined Alty from Leigh in 2004 after being the Alty Youth team captain.
Matt TOOTH: Aged 18. Left-back who graduated from the Youth team in 2004, which he captained on several occasions. Formerly with Oldham Athletic and Rochdale.
Steve TORPEY: Left-winger, joined from Prescot Cables. Appearances limited by injury and illness.
Tony WEALLE: A prolific striker in the Lancs & Cheshire League with Salford Beechfield, Tony joined Alty in December 2004.
BACKROOM STAFF 2004-05
Neil BROWN: Manager/coach. Neil has been coach and manager at Fletcher Moss for ten years. He has brought on players of all ages from youngsters to open-age category. He has won numerous league, county and cup titles as a manager and is also a scout for Liverpool FC.
Carlos MARSDEN: Coach. Carlos has a lot of experience inlocal football, having been at various clubs including Oldham Town. He is the father of the Reserves' James Marsden.
Alan AINSLEY: Head physiotherapist. Alan has eight years of experience as coach and physio at Fletcher Moss and was also a manager for three years. He has also been involved with Northwich Vics and Stalybridge Celtic, as well as being a coach for the Tameside Sports Trust.
Charles HENRY: Was head coach at start of the season. Like Neil, Charles has been a coach and manager at Fletcher Moss (for 12 years) and has also enjoyed plenty of success in cups, county games and leagues from "kids" to open age category. He is also a coach for the Manchester United satellite centre and a scout for Stockport County.
