REPORT

Based on information received from Neil Brown..

Altrincham brought Rick Chetcuti into the starting line-up as Pat McFadden was rested in view of his likely involvement for the first team this Saturday at Tamworth. On the bench Adam Eaton, Laurence Ball and Aaron Hevingham all returned after varying periods of absence.

There was no score for 20 minutes before a Farsley player broke his arm when he went up for a ball with Ben Deegan and fell awkwardly. Play was stopped for the player to be treated and this seemed to disrupt Altrincham's concentration for, within minutes of the resumption, Alty were trailing 3-0. However, they pulled a goal back through Michael Risk before immediately conceding a fourth, to trail 4-1 at the break.

The manager's multiple changes of position at half-time did not help the Alty performance immediately as two more goals were conceded. But they took effect later as Alty pulled back from 1-6 to 4-6 thanks to goals from Danny Heffernan, Andy Keogh and Astley Mulholland . But a seventh goal for the Yorkshire side finally settled any hopes of a remarkable turnaround for Altrincham.
