REPORT

Based on information from manager, Neil Brown.

Alty Reserves' manager Neil Brown was much happier with his team's performance tonight after a below par performance in their recent outings. There were no first teamers involved for Alty, apart from Pat McFadden, though Justin Bowler, who had been ill, was a spectator as he lives nearby.

Altrincham played some very good passing football but they were not helped by the impressive form of BPA's young six-feet three-inch goalkeeper.

Altrincham took the lead after 50 minutes through Pat McFadden and Scott Metcalfe, who had come on as a substitute, netted a second, ten minutes from the end. But Bradford scored a late consolation when a corner was taken and, from about eight yards, a BPA player shot past the unsighted Chris Rowley (89 mins). After the game Pat McFadden and a number of the players had an unforeseen problem when a key snapped in the boot of Pat's car, preventing them from starting their journey home. We hope that they eventually made it, though it is likely that physio Alan Ainsley was made to walk home as he was the one using the key at the time!
