  • ALEX STEPNEY: Had a long and distinguished career with Manchester United, Chelsea and Millwall. and was capped for England before joining Dallas Tornados in the North American League. Now on loan to the Robins until February.
  • STAN ALLAN: Signed from Skelmersdale in 1972, he is the unique holder of both FA Trophy and Amateur Cup winners' medals.
  • JOHN DAVISON: An England non-league international and a B.Sc., he was formerly with Northwich.
  • MALCOLM BAILEY: Signed two years ago from Runcorn.
  • JOHN OWENS: Another graduate, he is an M.Sc. He is in his eighth season with the Robins.
  • JOHN KING: The club captain, signed two years ago from Northwich.
  • GRAHAM HEATHCOTE: In his second spell at Moss Lane after graduating through the youth team.
  • BARRY WHITBREAD: Signed from Runcorn in September for a club record fee of £6,400.
  • JEFF JOHNSON: Signed in 1976 from Hyde United.
  • JOHN ROGERS: Signed from Port Vale after experience with Wigan.
  • BARRY HOWARD: Transferred in 1978 from Stockport County whom he joined from Runcorn.
